Meet The Coaches

Darlene Ballestero-Pirotte

Darlene has lived on the Central Coast since the mid 1990's. She and her husband Chris have been married for 27 years and raised two beautiful children, Erika (23) & Derek (21).

Ballestero-Pirotte earned her BS degree in Kinesiology, from UCSB while playing soccer for the Gauchos. She has coached volleyball & soccer over the last 20 years in the 5 Cities & Nipomo communities. She started playing doubles volleyball in the late 1990's and can be found on the sand courts in Pismo Beach at least a couple times a week.

Ballestero-Pirotte works for Lucia Mar school district as a teacher and is currently the Head Coach Nipomo High's girls JV & Frosh volleyball team. When not coaching or playing volleyball Ballestero-Pirotte enjoys riding her bicycle or hiking.

Ballestero-Pirotte continues to have a passion for the game of volleyball and gains joy from watching her daughter play volleyball for Colorado College and passing her love of the game down to her athletes.
